A lifelong soul devotee, DJ Deano’s love affair with music began early, sparked by Soul and Jazz Funk. His first concert was Lynx at the Dominion Theatre in the early ’80s, soon followed by Earth, Wind & Fire, Shalamar, Luther Vandross, Grover Washington, Odyssey, Slave and many more who shaped his musical taste.

With encouragement from Solar Radio’s ‘Flip’ Pearce and Mick Jackson of Chelmer Soul, Deano secured residencies at Chelmer Soul in Chelmsford, Capone’s in Wickford, Henry’s Bar in Aveley, SOS in Ilford and the Liquid Bar in Walthamstow.

After relocating to Spain, he became a regular Saturday evening presenter on Valle Radio.

Now back behind the mic on Breeze 97.7FM, Deano says: “Another chapter has unfolded. I’m thrilled to share the very best in Philly, Soul, Jazz Funk and Motown. I hope listeners enjoy the music as much as I enjoy playing it!”
