Local Market: Albox

Tuesday is market day in Albox — and for many locals, it’s become part of the weekly routine.

From early morning, the town centre fills with stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, nuts, clothes, footwear and all sorts of household bargains. It’s one of the busiest and most popular markets in the Almanzora Valley, attracting shoppers from surrounding towns and villages every week.

For plenty of people, the morning starts with churros and coffee before heading off for a wander around the market and catching up with friends along the way.

Albox itself is a lively inland market town with a strong community feel, a growing shopping area and easy access from across the region. On Tuesdays, the atmosphere really comes alive as locals, visitors and traders fill the streets for one of the valley’s best-known weekly markets.
